EW Counselor Manual Supplement: ‘Providing EnhanceWellness to Adults with Long-Term Disability’ is now available!
The long-awaited EW Counselor Manual Supplement on Providing EnhanceWellness to Adults with Long-Term Disability is available for download on WellWare. EnhanceWellness (EW) is a program originally designed to serve older adults with chronic medical conditions. Our EW clients are older adults who want to make positive changes to improve their health and participation in all life has to offer. This supplement will provide general information about individuals with long-term disability and includes definitions of disability, medical conditions often associated with disability, disability discrimination and rights, and recommended adaptations to the EW process and program tools to better serve these clients. The focus of this supplement is individuals with long-term physical disabilities. However, some of this information may also be applicable to individuals with long-term mental, intellectual/developmental, or sensory disabilities.
The contents of this supplement were developed under a grant from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (grant nos. HB133B080024 and 90RT5023-01-00). NIDILRR is a Center within the Administration for Community Living (ACL), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
